E-scooter Safety
Safety Guide
Hopping on your scooter and accelerating away may feel intuitive to most of us, especially if you have previously owned a kick scooter; however, e-scooters are different, you must understand fully how to check and confirm your scooter is safe to ride and that you know how to control all functions. Please read the manual before riding and retain for future reference.
Understand the controls
Your e-scooter is delivered to you with cruise control enabled. Ensure you understand how this feature works and how to disable cruise control.
Wear a helmet
Always wear a helmet that is CE or UKCA approved, and is suitable for use when riding an e-scooter or bicycle.
Loss of Balance
Do not hang bags or other items on your scooter, this will affect the balance of the scooter and increase the chance of falling and injury.
Check the weather and surface conditions
Do not ride your Busbi e-scooter on wet, icy, or loose surfaces.
Practice makes perfect!
Your Busbi scooter has a powerful motor, so take it very slowly at first, practicing how to kick off and accelerate slowly. Learn how to adjust your braking technique to compensate for differing conditions, ensuring that where dual mechanical brakes are fitted, you apply more rear braking than front braking. Lean how to balance and corner at slow speeds until you become proficient. Familiarise yourself with the throttle, and how and when cruise control activates, observing how cruise control deactivates as soon as the brake is applied.

Before each use, carry out the following pre-flight checklist before each use of your e-scooter.
